Great start, until first coding interview where I was asked to implement quickselect. I refused. It's baffling that they still rely on quickselect as a criterion to select worthy engineers to work on metaverse. What a dumb idea. I guess I'm not a cultural fit.

Pros: - Some brilliant people around.
- Large-scale tech that one has no chance to see outside global companies like this.
- Peer-to-peer mentality; few if any walls and silos.
- Good engineering culture in key systems.
- Transfers between departments are encouraged.
- Compensation, obviously!
Cons: - Being placed on a team was a huge hurdle, as team headcount was short to non-existent. Try to join before Q4 :)
- Remote work setup in 2020 was sometimes problematic, mostly from the org side.
- Internal everyday tech moves quite quickly and may sometimes be unreliable and slow you down or block you.
- Engineers (and sometimes even managers) do on-call shifts.

Pros: Very bottoms-up, but slightly messy because of it.
Generally friendly people.
Cons: Can be disorganized due to the bottoms-up culture.
