Senior Software Engineer Interview Experience

Process

A recruiter called me and asked a couple of HR questions. I scheduled a phone interview. The first phone interview was not hard at all. I implemented it with Java, but obviously it wasn't what the interviewer expected. Then came the second phone interview. There were two questions, and I completed them quickly.

Two days later, I was asked to join the on-site interview. I was a little nervous for my on-site. Basically, the questions were not hard at all, but I was too nervous (it was my first on-site interview in the US) and wasn't able to figure out the best solution before the time ran out.

Questions

  1. Given a data structure Seq:

java class Seq { int value; Seq next; }

And two Seq objects, seq1 and seq2, compare them. Return true if there is only one difference or no difference. Return false if there are more than two differences.

  1. Given an array containing zero and non-zero elements, move all zero elements to the end and all non-zero elements to the beginning.
