Process

I was referred by a friend working at Facebook.

The recruiter first gave me a phone call to discuss my background. Then, a phone interview was scheduled a week later.

In the phone interview, I spoke with a guy working on some system projects. He first asked me a few general tech questions. Then, he asked me to code a program to check if a given string matches a given regular expression online using CollabEdit.

I didn't do well, so there was no feedback.

Pros: Really smart people that care about building a great product. It's clear that people are really excited about what they are doing.

Cons: It's getting political and seems like there is a lot of jockeying. That's not great for an engineer who really cares about making a great product. It gets in the way.
