Software Engineer Interview Experience

Process

I was referred internally but was denied multiple times without an interview. Some months later, they somehow remembered me and reached out, sending an email to schedule a Skype interview. I was surprised they were trying to contact me with information from a year-old resume, as I am sure I reapplied with an updated CV just a few months ago.

The interview was an online programming assessment. It was difficult, as I expected. Few companies present a dynamic programming problem in the first interview.

The engineer interviewing me kept asking me to change my algorithm. I managed to finish the core algorithm, with potential bugs, and was denied (again) exactly 24 hours later.

Questions

A dynamic programming problem. The core algorithm is not very difficult, but the inputs are extremely annoying. They are designed to cause problems, in my opinion.
