Pros: Perks and pay are top-notch. Some of the engineers are truly talented.

Cons: As the title says, FB is not for everybody, in my opinion. The recent set of 1-star ratings list pretty much all the things that made me leave: * Questionable work-life balance * No planning/structure * Arrogant/ignorant coworkers * Every person for themselves * Cliques * Political environment * Inept managers * Poor communication/rumor mill/back-stabbing * No teamwork * Management by attention-deficit disorder The work-life-balance issue goes beyond the mere hours. It is expected that you become FB friends with all your coworkers, managers, etc. FB makes it impossible for the realm of your private life to remain separate from your workplace and coworkers. This wasn't working for me, but I recognize that for others this isn't an issue. It seemed to me that much that is broken at FB is perpetuated by the in-clique, and in fact gets sold as the great achievements of FB's unique culture.

Pros: Company has good technology, AI capability, and great contributions to the AI community. Good compensation. Perks have been trimmed but are still better than the market. Great culture for inclusivity; great colleagues. Recent flattening in the manager chain is a step in the right direction to solve the empire-building problem.

Cons: Stagnated product direction, reorg often, which directly impacts the possibility of IC direction contribution. New bets are too new to be reliable. Layoffs hurt morale. 44 hours/week is manageable and not overstretched. However, there are many things to do and not enough time for learning new things (outside of the day-to-day job).

Pros: - Smart coworkers - Great developer tools and support - Lots of difficult problems - Incredible benefits

Cons: - Performance reviews can push people to prioritize impact over long-term stability.
