I had a one-on-one interview on campus in West Lafayette.

He asked about my projects for a bit and then jumped straight to coding questions.

He asked me two questions. One of them was dynamic programming, which I didn't get completely right.

Better culture than product

Software Engineer • Current Employee

Menlo Park, California, United States

Pros: Smart colleagues. Product with huge impact. Lots of independence as an IC and as a team. Perks make life easier.

Cons: Very few good product people with good product intuition. Company relies on metrics and user research far more than they should. Everybody says they value long-term work but don’t have the courage to do it. Nobody has taste — and it’s reflected in the awful Frank Gehry buildings.

Great Place to Grow if You Can Handle the Pace

Software Engineer • Former Employee

California, Maryland, United States

Pros: Compensation and Benefits: This is almost always a highlight. Employees often praise the competitive salary, stock options (RSUs), and comprehensive benefits packages, which include everything from healthcare to perks like free food and wellness stipends.

Cons: Work-Life Balance: This is a common pain point for many large tech companies. Reviewers often mention a demanding and intense work culture, with long hours and pressure to deliver quickly. The company's focus on "moving fast" can lead to burnout.
