Process

I applied through facebook.com/careers and three weeks later, a recruiter emailed me, expressing interest in an interview. They were very kind and attentive. I received detailed instructions about the process.

They also provided some blog posts and other links, which I had already found during my company research. They mentioned the phone interview was worth preparing for and that I could take time to study.

I requested two weeks to get ready, and they accepted. Subsequently, another recruiter contacted me to schedule the phone interview. After setting the appointment, and before the two-week preparation period, they called me for a brief chat, which lasted about five minutes. I used this opportunity to ask some questions about the company and the recruitment process.

Two weeks later, I received a call from an engineer. They asked me several questions about my background. After I answered, I logged into an online editor for a shared coding session. They presented two algorithm questions, and I felt I performed reasonably well.

Following these questions, the engineer asked if I had any questions about the company or its technology. I asked a question just to engage. They answered kindly and in detail. After a 45-minute discussion, the engineer concluded the call.

Approximately five hours later, I received an email from the initial recruiter stating I was not a suitable candidate. The recruiter also added me as a contact on LinkedIn. This gesture completely demonstrated their kindness and their pursuit of exceptional individuals.
