Software Engineer (Internship) Interview Experience - Los Angeles, California

Process

This was the most unfair interview I've ever had. Time was really tight, with not enough time for discussion to adequately test the candidate's abilities. Facebook essentially expects you to devise the best solution the moment you see the question.

Although the information session clearly stated there would be no dynamic programming (DP) questions, I was presented with a hard DP coding question (I had studied every question from the past six months of Facebook interviews on LeetCode but had never seen this one) and one medium DP question. The interviewer expected me to solve two medium-hard questions in just 35 minutes.

I was just a few lines away from finishing my second question when the interviewer asked me to stop. He said he understood my idea, which was correct, and then rejected me.

I reported the DP question to my HR representative and requested an additional interview, but that request was also rejected.
