Great engineers, great benefits.

Cons
  • Useless leadership and managers.
  • Bottom-up culture doesn't work well on scale.
  • Short-term thinking, buggy products, impact/metric-driven incentives.
  • Everyone thinks about ways to maximize their bonus rather than thinking about product quality.
  • Engineers are mostly code monkeys. There's not much opportunity for system design at scale. Everyone is supposed to product code, and every line is counted and impacts the reviews.
Advice to Management

Have some vision. Don't blame all the issues on ICs. Do your job first!
