Good pay and benefits, remote work, and access to people on many teams.
The team was not well prepared for onboarding interns remotely, and it made for an isolating work experience.
Individuals seemed to not interrogate the ethics of their work too heavily. I recall asking a team member how they felt about the fact that Facebook had profited off the pandemic due to everyone’s increased online presence, and they simply responded, "That's the way it is."
I had hoped for a more nuanced response and perhaps thoughts about how Facebook could use those funds to improve the ethics of its platform.
The interview was pretty standard: * Recruiter outreach * CodeSignal * Final round with two LeetCode questions in 45 minutes, both variations of tagged questions. Just grind tagged questions and type fast.
1 round of 4-question OA of easy/medium Leetcode questions. 1 online technical interview of 2 easy/medium Leetcode questions. The first question is more standard, and the second is a bit more open-ended.
LeetCode Easy and Medium questions regarding Binary Trees, BFS, and DFS. Also, some light general DSA questions during coding. Little to no behavioral questions. All questions seemed to be LeetCode tagged.
