Cloud Solutions Architect Interview Experience

Process

The process seemed to drag unnecessarily long. In addition, there appeared to be information inconsistencies between the recruiter and the scheduler. Questions about the process either went unanswered or took several days for a response. It appears that recruitment/scheduling is handled by third-party companies, which might contribute to the disorganization.

The interview itself was pretty vanilla and consisted of four one-hour Teams interviews spread out over a 10-week period:

  • Screening interview with the recruiter
  • Meeting with the hiring manager
  • Two technical panels
  • Follow-up with the recruiter

My experience was somewhat negative due to the disorganization. One of the CSAs on the technical panel talked a lot and took up an awful lot of air time. Another was late. Everyone else was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, so it's hard to really judge.

It seemed like folks were more interested in talking about themselves or chatting than getting to know the candidate, so it could be they had already made their hire and were just going through the motions.
