Though I applied online for a position at Microsoft over a month ago, I only received a call from the recruiter the day after I secured a reference. Now, although I applied for a Program Manager position, the recruiter informed me that my profile suited another role: SDET 2 among the current openings.

I had no formal testing experience prior in my career, but when the recruiter mentioned that development was an integral part of the profile, I was intrigued.

My interview was with a Lead Tester, whose questions were excellent analytical inquiries regarding testing scenarios. He did not ask any typical technical questions, which can otherwise be Googled. He was truly testing my thought process on how I would approach testing a product.

How will you manage multilingual (hundreds of languages) testing of a product on very short notice, given that you cannot test all of them?
