The interview had average difficulty. The first two were technical interviews that involved coding. The interviewers were helpful in guiding me in the right direction by giving hints and maintaining a positive atmosphere throughout.
The interviewer in the third round struggled to express their expectations clearly. They asked for a high-level design/implementation of the game of Battleship. I initially proposed a matrix implementation. Midway through, they admitted they hadn't communicated properly and instead wanted a different approach, such as using a list of position objects. From that point, the entire discussion went downhill.
There were many random, unconnected conversations, and I couldn't understand what the expected final output was. I was rejected after this round, as anticipated. It would have been beneficial if there had been clear expectations of the end result from the interview discussion. The hour felt like a series of random, unconnected, and ever-changing conversations.
