Pros: Good work-life balance. In more than 5 years, I hardly worked 3 or 4 times for more than 45 hours a week. Each time, the manager offered comp off for working late or on the weekend. Good parental leave. You will be encouraged to take your 6 weeks of paternity leave in a way that helps you the most. No business priorities were placed over that. I was even allowed to take a project with lenient deadlines when my wife's delivery date was nearing. I was never asked why I was taking a leave. Very smart coworkers. You will have to keep updating yourselves to keep up with the best minds. Projects are generally good. There will be some kind of challenges.

Cons: Though the salary is good compared to most of the companies in your area, you will see there are companies which pay significantly more for the same work you do. You will spend a good amount of time ensuring the process is followed and attending meetings rather than solving interesting technical problems.

Pros: Experience gained and positive working experience are highly dependent on the immediate team culture, management chain, and product. Some teams are more aligned with industry standards, have a faster development cadence, and a more open development stage.

Cons: Others are stuck in legacy mode, with entrenched management chains and practices. There is a lack of focus on quality, as PM teams are incentivized to ship features with low quality, low customer engagement, and no long-term quality improvements. There's very poor integration of web clients with workflows in almost all Microsoft properties. The worst offender is Windows. Rather than aggressively pushing web-based development, they are still pushing UWP—a direct result of the "not built here" mentality. The same applies to Office with desktop apps. The web-based alternatives exist but are woefully inadequate in terms of feature quality and performance. The only teams that may have hope are Azure and Xbox, the former because of more modern management chains and the latter because of a renewed emphasis on customer needs.

Pros: Great, no issue at all.

Cons: None that I can think of.
