Software Development Engineer II • Former Employee
Redmond, Washington, United States

Pros: Great pay, perks, and benefits. There's a decent work-life balance. You'll work with many smart people, and the company is big, so you can move around to where you like it most.
You'll learn a lot of things and be made a perfectionist quickly in software development. I met some of the very best managers and peers in my career.
Cons: Re-interviews when moving around the company. Some teams are good, others not. A lot of politics and shuffling as projects come and go. The company was not (2014) moving in good directions until Nadella became CEO.
