Process

I was interviewed on the UofT campus. The interviewer was very nice. He asked me several behavioral questions, the usual:

  • Why do you want to work for Microsoft?
  • Tell me about a challenge that you have overcome.

He then asked me to reverse a string that was in a matrix. He gave me the direction of the string and its length. Once I was done, he asked me to test it and write test cases for it.

I believe I did well; however, I didn't make it to the next round.

Questions

Why do you want to work for Microsoft?

Why do you want to be an SDE?

Reverse a string in a matrix in place. You are given the direction and length of the string.
