Software Development Engineer In Test (SDET) Interview Experience

Process

It was a campus interview which lasted 45 minutes. I was first asked to introduce myself, then asked two coding questions:

  1. Find the Nth to last node in a linked list.
  2. Given a string, find whether it has any permutation of another string. For example, given "abcdefg" and "ba", it should return true because "abcdefg" has the substring "ab", which is a permutation of "ba".

I failed the second question. Several days later, I got a rejection.

Questions

Given a string, find whether it has any permutation of another string. Need to be efficient.
