First, I had an on-campus interview with a recruiter, which involved an easy coding question. A bit later, they told me they wanted to fly me out to Redmond for on-site interviews.
Upon arrival, I met with a recruiter who explained the day's schedule. They then called a shuttle to take me to another building for the interviews themselves.
The interview process generally followed this structure:
Each interview took about 45 minutes. After each one, they would often take me to the kitchen to offer me a drink before passing me off to the next interviewer.
One interviewer in the middle took me to lunch, where we ordered food and ate in his office during the interview. I believe there were 5 interviews in total, all with members of the same team.
After the interviews, I took a shuttle back to the first building, where the recruiter from that morning conducted a debriefing and then sent me on my way.
Throughout the process, everyone was very nice. When I asked questions, they responded honestly, sharing both the pros and cons of working at Microsoft. The company was also very generous regarding expenses, especially food.
