Process

A recruiter contacted me and scheduled a time for a phone screen with a development manager.

The phone screen interview with the development manager was relatively simple. I was asked basic algorithmic questions, similar to those found on various sites featuring Microsoft interview questions.

The development manager informed me that the recruiter would be in touch to schedule an on-site interview. The recruiter handles setting up the interview loop and ensuring the candidate has everything prepared during the interview process.

My on-site interview consisted of six interviews, mostly with members of the team I was interviewing with. The interviewers were primarily senior development leads and higher-level staff, or in some cases, SDE IIs.

The interview questions were mostly standard Microsoft interview questions.

Questions

I was asked to come up with the edit distance algorithm and code it on a whiteboard. For someone who has not gone over the algorithm recently, this will be a tricky problem to solve.
