Pros: - Brand name
- Perks are good
- Amazing infrastructure and nice recreation facilities as well (pool, TT, tennis, etc.)
Cons: - Some teams don't have good work.
- Large crowd, tough competition to grow.
- Base salary is less compared to other companies. They do eye wash by quoting a very high CTC.

Pros: By and large, a very high hiring bar for development. (Not sure with the new conversion of SDETs to SDEs).
Sustainable working hours for the most part. Some cutting-edge research and product development with hard engineering problems to solve.
Affordable living close to work. Good perks.
Cons: Poor management. Employees are disillusioned with HR and management.
Too many PMs running around doing nothing and taking most of the credit with "visibility". There isn't enough work to go around so devs just spend time doing their pet projects until they get cancelled and they are reorganized and moved.
Too many reorganizations and moves!!!! Not agile by any stretch of the imagination.

Pros: The company still attracts and retains good engineering talent. The benefits program is outstanding.
The company still has an extremely strong presence in the PC/desktop market. Very good compensation.
Cons: Microsoft is no longer seen as a "hot" place to work, so the concentration of top-flight engineering talent is less dense than it used to be. Senior management has shown confusion with its business strategy over the last decade, having difficulty shipping Vista and always playing catch-up with Google. Innovation is limited. The company is slow-moving and can take a long time to get anything interesting done. Size can be stifling.
