Good opportunities, smart people, great work-life balance
Software Engineer • Former Employee

Pros: I was in the Bing relevance team. The people I worked with were smart and motivated. We had good work opportunities and were pushed by the leadership to pick new and challenging projects.
Microsoft is the ideal big company for having a good work-life balance.
Cons: Sometimes you work on the same thing for long periods, and it becomes less challenging with time.
I witnessed some office politics, but don't think that's prevalent across the office.

Agile Practices But Untested Code
Software Engineer • Former Employee
February 18, 2022
Pros: It depends on the team, but you can typically expect to have a work-life balance. There are no hectic days unless it's release time.
Cons: Pushing bad, untested code in the pretext of being Agile. It feels ridiculous to be seeing such practices at such a large corporation.
