Process

This is for an event interview.

The first step was an online tech screening. It ranged from easy to medium difficulty problems. You might be asked to write an algorithm, find bugs and provide fixes, or write possible test cases. I had three such problems:

  • One straightforward coding problem.
  • One to find bugs and provide fixes.
  • One data structure implementation (medium difficulty).

Then, I had an onsite interview with four rounds. These were pretty straightforward whiteboard coding questions:

  • The first round focused on scenario-based problems.
  • The second round involved implementing a data structure.
  • The third round was another scenario-based problem.
  • The fourth round presented a hard difficulty problem.

LeetCode is the best source for Microsoft interviews. I would say to expect at least two rounds with LeetCode-style problems, but one should be able to solve them if practiced enough. I received three problems outside of LeetCode.

I got a call from the recruiting manager the next business day and discussed the offer. Their turnaround was super quick!
