Pros

As an onsite contract developer at Microsoft in 2018, I definitely felt like my team included me more than I've experienced in similar roles. Other than employment status, I was highly involved in standups, code reviews, and input on projects. Other than my employment status, I definitely felt and acted like a part of the team.

Cons

There were several event and emergency announcements that did not make it to me due to my employment status. I was lucky to hear these secondhand through my FTE coworkers, but sometimes these occurrences meant that I couldn't actually access my building when I planned to finish work there (I was working with onsite hardware).

Advice to Management

Extend important building announcements to workers of all employment types that utilize that building.
