Pros

Get to work at Microsoft on a lot of cool products. As a contract employee, I felt accepted as a full member of the team by the FTE's. They provide a lot of training opportunities as well to help grow your career.

Cons

When programs are put on hold or shift direction, contract employees are the first to go. Also, it can get confusing after getting laid off regarding eligibility for future roles at Microsoft because the 18-month contract period is followed by a minimum 6-month break between contracts.
