Pros

You will be acknowledged, heard, and respected.

There are some attractive incentives, but they often need discovering.

Contrary to popular belief, you can pick open-source to work with (but have a solid reason handy).

Some of the best work-life balance

Cons
  • By work-life balance, I mean teams are slow. You want a one-line change; you can wait a whole week before sending a reminder. It better be a gentle reminder.

  • Microsoft can learn a thing or two from open-source, like the ease of use of tools, as ubiquitous as Grafana. There is a need to simplify. Human interfacing is a discipline that Microsoft often takes for granted.

  • .Net is staring at you, and you can't look away.

Advice to Management

No changes there, you're doing great. Keep up the respect for the talent that you hire.
