Used to be "Best Company to Work For." Not anymore. Now #86 in 2014. Sad, sad, sad

Pros

Benefits such as medical, vision, and dental are still better than industry.

Bonuses and stock options are also still better.

Cons

Microsoft management does not have an ounce of moral fiber. Instead of letting people go as RIFs, they are putting them through the psychological beat down and humiliation of being "Managed Out" so they don't have to pay any severance package.

They are slowly working their way down the list, and I'll be very surprised if they're not #100 by the end of 2015.

Advice to Management

Management and HR need to treat people as human beings. They've become as bad or worse than all the other major corporations. The bigger they are, the greedier they get at the top, and the working-class employee keeps getting trampled on.
