Pros

Good money. Some places have very interesting work, but one has to look hard for them. You get to work with some incredibly smart people and affect the lives of millions. Or at least, that's how it used to be.

Cons

Politics. Suddenly, the whole team goes down the drain, and you have to jump off really fast if you don't want to get stuck in the sewer for a long time.

Compensation is getting less and less competitive with time.

Upper management is not very bright or competent; everything worthy is done despite them.

Advice to Management

Just go away, and let innovative people take over.
