Pros

Opportunity to impact the world.

Lots of smart people to work with.

Cons

Frequent reorganizations on every product cycle, always scrambling to worry about where to land.

Stack ranking still happens in many groups, just not "official" anymore.

Performance ratings and bonuses are determined by managers many levels above who have no idea who you are unless you do a lot of upwards lobbying and marketing of yourself and your team.

Advice to Management

Push individual rewards decisions all the way down to front-line managers.
