Great opportunity to get insight on how Microsoft purchases and develops its products.

Poor culture. Contractors are treated below par compared to most companies. There is poor collaboration between groups, mostly driven by fear. The sense of camaraderie and esprit de corps is often disingenuous.

Management is aware of the culture and promotes the status quo. They are often told by middle management, "There's no changing the culture at Microsoft. Don't try."
