Good salary, free drinks, great on-campus food options.
I'm going to put aside political correctness because this is a serious matter when considering a company for employment.
Outsourcing was always a problem, but even more so after Satya took over. Walking through the Commons, I always saw at least half H1B types, but more recently, they are more of a majority. I sent more emails to foreigners than I did to Americans.
Understand Microsoft is a corporation that is heavily leaning towards replacement with H1Bs, since American engineers are considered too expensive. So, expect to be treated like a replaceable cog and discarded as such. There is a lot of outsourcing still occurring, so if you can get an offer somewhere else, seriously consider leaving if you value your job security.
Quit whining about a "STEM shortage" in technology when you don't actually intend to hire American engineering students.
Hopefully, more people will wise up to the fact that you are propagating this myth to bring in ever more H1Bs to replace American engineers and further erode the local middle class.
I applied for the Sr. Software Engineer position in the Azure group and received a call within a month. The recruiter arranged a phone interview, which consisted of a couple of technical questions that I answered perfectly within an hour. Everything
A recruiter contacted me via LinkedIn and set up phone interviews with three different groups. Two groups wanted to bring me on-site for a final interview. **On-Site Interview with Group #1:** The hiring manager openly expressed his desire to hire
I applied via the employee referral process. After a phone call with the Dev Lead, I managed to fly to Redmond. It was a three-round interview loop in one day, and on the second day, I received an offer.
