Great health benefits, gym membership, and a lot of facilities.
There are many groups within MS that are doing great work.
Culture is very strange. There is work pressure to deliver, when the high-level roadmap is in a state of constant flux. So what are we really delivering against?
Dev managers (the ones who have been there a while, like 15+ yrs) think they are Gods; a lot of them are the rest and vest type. Not much is seen in terms of communicating with devs.
Overall, it seems like they want to run fast; however, they don't have much of a clue where they are running towards. Hence the work pressure with a lot of dissatisfaction at the end.
Get your act straight. So many groups in MS don't make money (not talking about the new ventures such as search/ad/etc.), but they are there. Pay more attention to the performance of dev managers and leads. They have the potential for a great positive impact, and even greater negative impact.
I applied for the Sr. Software Engineer position in the Azure group and received a call within a month. The recruiter arranged a phone interview, which consisted of a couple of technical questions that I answered perfectly within an hour. Everything
A recruiter contacted me via LinkedIn and set up phone interviews with three different groups. Two groups wanted to bring me on-site for a final interview. **On-Site Interview with Group #1:** The hiring manager openly expressed his desire to hire
I applied via the employee referral process. After a phone call with the Dev Lead, I managed to fly to Redmond. It was a three-round interview loop in one day, and on the second day, I received an offer.
