I have greatly enjoyed working for Microsoft. It promotes and reinforces a great work culture.
I think sometimes it can be very rigid in its processes. For example, when I moved remote to Miami, there was a 15% decrease in pay, and I could not negotiate nor discuss the reasoning behind the decrease. The decrease was expected, but the amount was out of sync with the current reality in Miami, and I could not get clarity on the why.
Phone interview followed by an online test. I was questioned about programming experience. My experience in the .NET environment has been daily for about 5 years. They seemed to be looking for an exact skill set.
Coding test and a 4-hour interview. Every interview had a coding part and a manager part, and took 45 minutes. Between them, I had a 15-minute break. Interesting questions and nice people.
There were 4 interviews: 3 technicals on OOP, design, etc., and then one with the tech lead. They seemed okay, and the feedback was nice, but I didn't get any response yet. They were all on the same day.
