Senior Software Engineer Interview Experience - New York, New York

Process
Slow moving, didn't seem to have regard for my time (showed up late, clearly weren't prepared with my resume in front of them, etc.). Overall felt a lack of care for the process, which was a red flag.

Senior Software Engineer
Senior Software Engineer • Current Employee
New York, New York, United States
August 23, 2015
Pros: Individuals, and some small teams, in the company are brilliant and can get amazing things done. In general, employees are high quality and have a huge amount of potential.
Cons: Departments and teams have little interaction or cohesion. A lack of vision leads to challenges executing and focusing on short-term goals, and the inability to plan for longer-term ones.
There is no real company culture or ownership, which makes it hard to be personally invested or put in the extra time or energy to make something great.

Great Work-Life Balance & Good Pay
Senior Software Engineer • Current Employee
New York, New York, United States
March 15, 2023
Pros: Pay is on par with industry, not nearly as high as the FAANG companies but I'd say probably one step down. Coworkers are intelligent but also very friendly and personable. It's not a bunch of genius/jerks. They seem to be fairly resilient to the current economic downturn; I have yet to hear of any layoffs.
Cons: No 401k matching or bonus.
Career growth options are not nearly what they'd be at a larger company; however, I've seen this improve during my time at the company.
