Pros: As a person who started their career as a Systems Engineer, loving the role of building systems and keeping them performing at scale, I found myself missing that connection in SA roles I had at subsequent SaaS tech companies I worked for. That was until I joined MongoDB last year, and I immediately felt like I was home, and my career had come full circle to exactly where I'm supposed to be. MongDB gives me all the job satisfaction I've craved for years. It allows me to practice all the sales skills I learned over the years because it takes sales discovery and the sales process so seriously. Moreover, it affords me the opportunity to work with customers on complex technical challenges where I can really develop and strengthen my technical knowledge, but also become an important part of helping customers build their application and database architectures and ultimately drive genuine value and growth for those businesses.

Cons: The only con is not MongoDB related but more COVID related. The company has a great office and a really great working culture, but sadly I've only had one opportunity over the past 12 months to enjoy it :(

Pros: Exceptional Culture & Values: The company's greatest strength is its culture. There is a remarkably open environment where feedback is shared and received without judgment. The core values aren't just posters on a wall; you see them lived out daily by colleagues in a collaborative and supportive atmosphere. Growth Mindset in Action: The environment fosters a true growth mindset. People are not afraid to ask for help, and colleagues are always willing to provide support without seeking personal recognition. The focus is on collective success. Hiring and Onboarding: The interview process is challenging but also an enjoyable and valuable learning experience. It rightly prioritizes a candidate's willingness to learn over just their existing knowledge. The subsequent onboarding process is transparent and sets you up for success. Customer-Centric Approach: There's a refreshing focus on building genuine, long-term customer relationships rather than on hard-code selling, which creates a more purposeful and ethical work environment.

Cons: Operational Maturity: Some internal processes can feel loose, which is characteristic of the company's startup DNA. While this allows for impressive agility and the ability to pivot strategy quickly, it can sometimes lead to ambiguity for teams on the ground. AI Strategy Execution: There is a significant and exciting focus on AI in top-level messaging. However, the communication of this strategy internally and the tangible capabilities available to teams are still maturing, creating a gap between the company's vision and the current reality.

Pros: MongoDB has everything you need and look for in a modern and progressive company. Not only is the product & technology a league above others, the culture and leadership are world class. The 6 core values of MongoDB really do resonate on a daily basis with every person you interact with. I highly recommend MongoDB as a career to all.

Cons: No real cons or concerns working at MongoDB. This is by far the best place I have worked in my life, and I foresee a long future to come at MongoDB.
