Truly collegial engineering culture, backed up by "no jerks" hiring. Lots of opportunity for taking ownership and growing in responsibility. Challenging problems to work on. Tremendous market adoption and post-IPO growth rate. Lots of management transparency. Excellent work/life balance if you want it. Relatively little politics.
Decision-making can be process-heavy. Product management is uneven and often too influential. Despite a big SaaS business, SRE/DevOps capabilities seem immature. Performance review/promotion processes are opaque and subjective. Some departments are more insular and tribal than others. Rapid growth has led to many inexperienced managers. Despite genuine efforts, the company has struggled to improve diversity, particularly in technical leadership roles.
Keep up the great execution in sales and market penetration!
But internal engineering vision needs to be more tangible and less buzzword soup.
Should invest significantly in operational maturity.
Recruiter phone call. Karat Interview: 10 minutes of algorithms analysis + at least 2 LeetCode questions (easy/medium level). Final Interview (did not get to this, but I heard some people found it easier than the Karat interview).
I was contacted initially by the college recruiter. We set up a time for a quick 30-minute behavioral screen. What followed was a phone coding interview. If that had gone well, there would have been an onsite.
The interview process included: * One phone screen * One technical phone interview * Three on-site interviews There was also a meet-and-greet with recent graduates. The people were really nice and diverse, not all white, male engineers.
