Junior Software Developer Interview Experience - Montreal, Canada

Process
It was a little bit hard and long.
I did it as a co-op student. They interviewed like 30 students together at the same time, all in breakout rooms via Zoom.
Knowing that at the start made you already stressed, as you were competing against a lot of students.
Questions
I do not remember exactly what the question was. The coding challenge requires you to know about dictionaries/maps.

Pros: Lots of experienced devs to learn from.
Cons: Not many. There's a lot of in-house developed tools, so sometimes it feels like you're stuck with inferior tooling compared to modern options.

Pros: In my experience, my team had an excellent atmosphere. We used modern and cutting-edge technologies and solutions, which enabled me to gain diverse knowledge in different domains.
The work environment is great, and everyone is very professional and friendly.
The work culture is amazing, thanks to the people.
Cons: Long working hours (team dependent), limited upward mobility (in my experience), and non-flexible company policies regarding hybrid/remote attendance.
Long conversion (contract to full-time employee) period if you are a contractor.
Unfair wages for contract positions, who receive much lower salaries compared to full-time employees (in my experience).
