Work-life balance;
• Unlimited PTO • Fully remote • A good enough company to put on a resume if you are a newbie.
Consistent change in leadership
Poor pay (compared to other big techs, yet the leadership is so ignorant to admit it)
Investing in heavy offshore (Chances are low hanging fruits will be let go)
Benefits are also poor (very less 401k match, bonus is okayish, stock program sucks)
Little to no growth (If you work on their hero product or the R&D product, it’s ok. But any other product is just a dead end. There is basically no growth in terms of career, pay or skills)
Promotions honestly should be part of one's job. I worked 3 years as a Software engineer E6. Even if I worked hard and contributed to almost every product/project, no promotion or even talks about it. Even if I worked lazy same thing. Even if I worked mediocre same thing again. After a certain number of years of consistent delivery and having enough knowledge of the product, one should automatically be raised a level. This boosts the employee's confidence and makes him want to contribute more and gives the employee hope to excel and be successful at the company. Sadly that does not happen here. You can stay in E6 for another 20 years.
Pay is so poor here. The management is so ignorant or arrogant when it comes to pay. They still live in the late 90s trust me. When I was hired their offer for a NYC based hire was 50k for a new grad. I told the HR, I'd rather flip burgers at McDonalds and get 60k plus bonus than be a Software engineer here. They made it 80k but since then it was just stagnant. Similar roles at other companies pay you around 30-40k more. But the management lives in the late 80s to 90s to even admit it.
They buy startups similar to how my mom buys things at Costco. They legit pick anything from the market. If that is your go-to thing, at least work on proper integration. This opens up for better opportunities and people would want to stay here. Once acquired they just completely abandon the project. A lot have left because of this.
They weren’t like this before. Now they change org every 3 months. For some reason someone is always reporting to someone new. Don’t even know what to expect.
The interview was all technical questions, which I didn't do great on (my own fault, of course). Then the interviewer accused me of lying on my resume, which was completely untrue. I just thought it was really unprofessional and overall not a great e
Got an onsite interview during the career fair. Interviewed with one member for half an hour on a behavioral problem that was easy to answer, and another half hour about technical questions. Very straightforward. The interviewer was very nice. I stru
I submitted my resume and received an email about one or two weeks later for an interview. I met with a manager. It was only one round, and I did not receive any result.
