Pros: Overall strong culture, good work/life balance most of the time. There is less process for process' sake than at most other companies I've worked.

Cons: We have a lot more people in tech, and this has watered down the culture substantially. There's more politicking to get ahead, and some seem to think the only way to get ahead and stay ahead is to keep others down so they can succeed. The idea of being surrounded by stellar colleagues, while somewhat true, is getting to be less and less the case. The lack of organization in managing resources with such a huge growth spurt in engineering is working against us. My team drastically increased head count, and somehow we're busier than we ever were before.

Pros: Good location, free lunch, ability to choose a laptop, and the corporate culture looks good on paper.

Cons: Middle management is unable to effectively plan. They do not understand the strengths and weaknesses of their teams and seem to be mostly interested in protecting their bloated salaries. 20% of the workforce should be terminated. The other 80% is so segmented that they are unable to accomplish anything of any real value. Netflix was probably a great company to work for a few years ago, but is dangerously mismanaged now.

Pros: Very bright people. Very high level of trust and mutual respect.

Cons: Dissent and complaint are discouraged. It's the flip side of valuing harmonious teamwork.
