AFAIK, there is no pip in the system. If you have some concerns about regular pip, here can be a safe shelter.
And due to many low performers, you can shine easily with very minimum effort for work, so WLB can be great.
As per no pip, there are too many unqualified engineers for their level. And almost half of Staff+ levels here are not even close to the Senior Engineer level at other companies. I really cannot believe the performance level of some Sr or above level engineers, unless they are taking multiple remote jobs with their current role.
I never expected to say this, but we have to filter out some engineers and hire others who are really satisfying the Staff/Sr. Staff/Sr job title and role. It is really discouraging other engineers who have a passion to learn and work.
And we need a clear and better structure for the hiring process. For me, I felt it was too easy to go through the interview at Netskope when I was hired as an interviewee. And as an interviewer, I found there's no standard criteria to evaluate.
To evaluate the candidate, the interviewer should know what the job title and role are for the candidate, and what they should evaluate clearly.
After the interview and evaluation, I can see the interview results of candidates that have already been interviewed. I easily can see 2-3 previous rounds where interviewers asked the same/similar questions again and again. Asking LeetCode-like algorithm questions is easy and simple for interviewers, but it is not a perfect tool to evaluate a candidate's real ability, unless the role is junior level.
But managers and HRs never provided any guideline or area to check to the interviewers, and just scheduled some time for interviews only. This unstructured interview process is hiring not good, not great engineers and it really discourages others.
I had multiple rounds of interviews. The final round with the director was strange, as he was eating snacks in front of the camera. HR indicated that a selection had been made but then ghosted me.
I had a hiring manager round. This included a resume walkthrough, HLD, and a very simple coding question on CoderPad. The second round was a DSA (Data Structures and Algorithms) assessment for 1 hour. This involved one simple problem and one medium
For the Staff position, it is likely that there would be around five rounds of technical interviews. The validation process would include the following: * Coding Problem * System Design * Tech stack based coding interview * A round of coding interv
