The interview process was organized by the recruiter. I was given a take-home design problem. It was not hard to finish, but required more time than given.
The in-person interviews were over videoconference. Each interview was poorly structured, however, and it was not clear what or how the interviewer was trying to gauge. I answered their questions, but the interviewer didn't really dig into the details very much.
The role was a little open-ended, between an architect and someone who was very hands-on. I had the impression they didn't have clear criteria. I was not given an offer because I had too little experience with Kafka. I offered to clarify this, as I did, but they were not interested. At the end, I felt like I had wasted my time.
