Interviewing at New Relic was the best interview experience I've had. I've interviewed at Microsoft and Google, and in both of those cases I felt like I was an inconvenience.
At New Relic, I felt all of the positive feedback I read about them on Glassdoor: a group of smart, upbeat individuals with a clear team mentality and personal investment in the company. People were polite, engaging, and very conversational in their approach, taking some time to get to know me to see if I would be a good fit.
The interview was tough, though; don't be fooled. Seven and a half hours meeting with eight different people is pretty intense, but at the same time, it didn't feel repetitive. If anything, meeting with that many people gave me some solid perspective on the different areas and concerns of the company, from operations to testing to development to client integrations.
New Relic is a company I'm truly excited about, but unfortunately, I wasn't able to accept an offer at the present time due to other general life complications.
I was asked some fairly deep questions about SSL in regard to scaling that I was completely unprepared for. I don't want to go into more detail than that because this question would reveal technical details about their business that I don't feel are appropriate to disclose here.
