The process was very weird, consisting of only a text session in Google Hangouts, after which I was made an offer. The questions did not seem focused on the role, and the interviewer was very distracted during the process, as evidenced by sometimes 20-minute delays between my response and the next question. They did not go into any technical depth at all, so I'm not sure how they assessed me well enough to make an offer.
I assign a non-trivial probability that this was a scammer masquerading as New Relic. Fortunately, I did not provide any personal information that was not already on the resume I sent when applying.
