Great teams and very challenging problems to solve every day, with an exciting work culture. Great salaries. I don't think any other company can pay you as much as Nokia, unless you are working for Google, Facebook, or a highly funded startup.
Management is the biggest drawback of this great company. Management in all departments with which I dealt is unbelievably useless. Technical decisions and feature sets are made and promised by product management who have no clue how they are done and what their pros and cons are. Decision making takes forever and ever.
Don't make technical decisions if you don't know what they are. Secondly, you won't have all 365 days to make a decision; be fast and smart.
It was a very straightforward interview with the line manager and one of the senior engineers. They asked some technical questions about OOP. What kind of IPC mechanisms do you know? Message parsing, pipes, shared memory.
Just asking the normal questions, like general types.
4-hour interview: 1 hour with team leader/direct manager 1 hour coding test 1 hour with HR representative and line manager
