Spoke to the recruiter and then scheduled a technical phone screen.
On the day of the interview, the CollabEdit link did not work. The interviewer found a workaround and used Google Docs instead. The interviewer was very polite and understanding. However, there was some problem within the team, and my updated resume never made it to the engineer who was conducting the TPS from the recruiter. They asked me to speak about myself before jumping into coding, and I did. It came as a surprise to them that I am working where I am currently working. I think this confusion could have been avoided easily had they been a little more organized amongst themselves.
Next was a coding question, which was from LeetCode. After some hints and thinking, I did get the answer correctly, but I did not pass the phone screen. I also did not understand the application of such an algorithm in their kind of work. I guess I have to do more research, and also, interviewers can ask any problem they like; there are no rules!
Neutral experience, hoping for some improvement in the process.
Related to the factorial of a number. How to handle the same for large numbers.
