I applied in Poland for a remote position- the managers actively write code which is exactly what I was hoping for. Great interviewers, very smart and extremely kind people. However, the strangest recruiter experience in my life! I guess I didn’t pass the technical interview. When I asked about feedback whether that was the reason or something else I can improve first, she said they didn’t give detailed feedback—something the first interviewer said they did. Then she replied, something like, it was not my performance or personality. Which is peculiar because this means it is my gender or ethnicity or something outside of me, and I laughed a bit at the naive answer. It was followed by double the fact that the interview will not proceed, which at this point I felt like, “Back off, lady!”. So I forgot about it. Just annoyed at the immaturity and went on with my life. Today, I received an invite for interview from the same person. At this point, I am no longer laughing. This is unprofessional and insensitive - turning you down twice was more than enough. I wrote her like, “I am very surprised and guess it is a mistake. Please confirm and let’s not do it anymore.” No answer. Never in my life have I met so inadequate recruiter! I consider her communication, or lack of, borderline rude, and I realize how important these people are. They are usually very easy to talk to and friendly and somehow not appreciated enough; now I realize.
