Pros
  1. Good pay, one of the best in India.
  2. Smart peers from whom you can learn. Mostly helpful.
  3. Managers are respectful towards your leaves. No interruptions when you are on holidays.
  4. A lot of relevant virtual (due to pandemic) events are being organized which allows you to be fit, social, and healthy. Depends on your team/manager if you'd get time to attend these.
Cons
  1. One of the best places to work (only if you end up under a good manager).

  2. About my team, I used to get a lot of planned and unplanned work irrespective of whether I was comfortable or not. There were explicit expectations set by the manager to work long hours. You couldn't refuse to work long hours; you'd still be asked to work longer hours even if you tried to resist.

Advice to Management
  1. Set processes for teams that allow developers to develop excellent products, giving them enough time to implement high-quality features.

  2. Managers need to understand the actual meaning of Agile, Sprints, Backlog, Grooming, Scope Freeze, and Prioritizing. You can't have everything old, new, planned, and unplanned in scope and ask your developers to extend all the time.

  3. Managers need to learn to protect their staff's work-life balance instead of pushing them to limits until they break.

  4. There is no planning, yet requests to plan and discuss over emails occur while the sprint is in progress. This causes a lot of friction, as developers constantly seek clarity and have very little time to implement at the end of the sprint.
