Engineering Interview Experience - Sydney, Australia

Process

The interview process was fairly straightforward: a 1-hour HR call, followed by a code questionnaire and an aptitude test.

The aptitude test was ridiculous. Questions around measurement and volume were in imperial units, and I was interviewing in a country that uses the metric system. I was then rejected for the job due to the score on the aptitude test.

Questions

How would you design and monitor a distributed system to accept thousands of connections per minute?

If Mike travels 1.7 miles and Joe travels 1.8 miles, and then Sally travels twice their distances combined divided by two, how many meters did Sally travel?
