I applied online and was followed up with a phone interview a week later. The phone interview was behavioral and focused more on the company. They were looking for developers in C# and C++. I was more focused on Java, and I assume that is why I didn't make it to the second phase. However, it was a pleasant experience.

Pros: The environment is friendly, and the people working there are great, both professionally and personally.
The company realized it has a lot of technical debt and is investing heavily in reducing it. It's trying to become a world-class software development firm.
Cons: For most of the lifetime of the company, getting things done in a hacky way has been acceptable. This shows in the state of the codebase, which could be less than pleasant to work with.

Pros: Great Culture: Strong focus on testing, clean code, and simplicity. There's a lot of close teamwork, and the senior developers set an example with humility and hard work.
Smart People: You get to work with mostly A-players.
Stable and Successful: The company has been profitable for over 25 straight years. Not many trading companies can say that, especially these days.
Work/Life Balance: It is great.
Cons: - Lots of young talent in need of "professional development." There's still an unnerving number of face-palm moments.
- Hit-or-miss management: Some managers are fantastic, others leave a bit to be desired.
