The interview started with standard questions: my current title, the certificates I hold, my highest level of education, and so on.
The interviewer then stated that "in the interest of transparency," the role would only pay $80-85k.
If they were trying to be transparent, why did they advertise a salary range of $90-160k on the job listing?
Since the job listing asked for 0-2 years of experience, and I have nearly 2 years of experience, I expected a figure toward the middle or end of that range to be discussed during the interview.
Needless to say, I ended the interview then and there, as $80-85k would have been a pay cut.
