I applied online via LinkedIn and received a message from the recruiter stating she would like to have a chat over the phone.
During the phone call, we discussed my experience, what I am looking for, salary expectations, and other relevant details.
Later, she arranged a technical phone call. On this call, I was asked questions regarding SQL queries, my experience, and Big O notation. This was followed by a technical test on Hackerrank.
The Hackerrank test consisted of three straightforward questions. I completed it with all test cases passing.
A few days later, the recruiter contacted me again, stating, "Unfortunately, there were a few errors, so we won't be looking to progress further with your application."
This was extremely shocking. Even though I saw that all test cases had passed and the program I wrote had optimal time and space complexity, they claimed there WERE ERRORS. I believe this was untrue. I did not expect this from a company of this caliber.
When I requested a double-check to see if this was a mistake or for detailed feedback, the recruiter said she would speak with the team to review. After several weeks of follow-up, the recruiter declined to provide any further feedback.
This was a horrible and unfair interview process. Lessons learned: do not apply to a company solely based on its name, especially "Oracle."
